When Kaleo began back in 2004, there was one other Acts 29 church in Houston. Within 6 months or so of our launch, that church left the network. For years, we were the only Acts 29 Network church here in Houston. We’ve prayed that God would raise up men to plant Christ-centered churches all over Houston.

God is so faithful and good – he has been answering our prayers.  Last night, I had the opportunity to gather with all of the current Acts 29 pastors in Houston to eat, drink, and celebrate the beginnings of a church planting movement here in Houston. There were 13 pastors and their wives there!

These 26 men and women represent churches all over the Houston area, from the heart of the city to the suburbs. They represent churches at different stages in the journey – some have been around for years, others are just getting started. They represent churches of various sizes – from thousands to dozens. But every single one of them are passioately preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and seeking to reproduce new churches that will do the same, both here in Houston and all over the world.

As the longest-standing Acts 29 church in Houston, it was a sweet night for Shannon and I. Kaleo, your prayers have played a big role in making this happen. I’m attaching a picture that gives the names and church of each of these men (click the picture for full size) – would you consider praying for them by name each day?

In addition, let’s continue to pray for God to raise up dozens and dozens more like them – men whom God will use to plant biblically faithful churches throughout Houston. For our city to be changed by the Gospel, it will take a movement of churches – and we are blessed to play a small part of that.
